Crudely pierced and plugged. These coins, like the Newark siege pieces, were often worn as badges - either as memorial pieces or in support of the 'Royalist Cause'.

Interestingly, this coin has had EBOR crudely removed from below the horse. This is without doubt a contemporary action of some 'political'? motivation, as I have seen other examples - otherwise
