GROUP B, SECOND BUST, ELONGATED VARIETY, breaking legends. mm.heart (1629-30).
Ex:- Brooker (SCBI 59); Alan Morris (bgt.L.B. 12/96).
An exceptional coin - slight kink before the King's head and a metal flaw at 3 o'clock (rev.). It looks as if the coin was prized out of the die leaving a bit of gold behind.

YORK MINT (1643-4). mm.lion. TYPE 7, horse's tail shows between legs, reverse with lion skin garniture; no C R or floral spray.

Interestingly, this coin has had EBOR crudely removed from below the horse. This is without doubt a contemporary action of some 'political'? motivation, as I have seen other examples - otherwise
VERY FINE
